Dynasty Warriors is back baby! Friday’s State of Play has given us our first look at Koei Tecmo’s next entry into the long running Dynasty Warriors series, Dynasty Warrriors Origins. As a fan of the series, to say I am excited is an understatement!
Koei appears to be going back to form after their poorly received foray into open world, with Dynasty Warriors 9, and I must say the series has never looked so good! The token ‘1 vs 1000’ gameplay looks the best that it ever has with battlefields crawling with soldiers to mow down as flaming arrows rain down from the sky.

Origins appears to be shifting the series in a new direction with players taking control of a nameless hero this time around. We get glimpses of some fan favourite generals throughout the trailer such as Cao Cao, Lu Bu and Guan Yu, but it remains to be seen what part they will play.

Will we still be able to choose our favourites (Ma Chao forever) to play as? Only time will tell! Dynasty Warriors Origins is hitting PlayStation 5 in 2025. We’ll bring you more info as we get it.
