Castlevania sinks it’s teeth into Dead by Daylight

Another slay has been served from Dead by Daylight. And I’m not talking about getting hooked when you’ve almost popped that hard to finish generator. Coming to Dead by Daylight, the king of collaborations, is Castlevania, the gothic horror vampire game.

We can expect this chapter to kick off at the end of August, so pack away your garlic now!

Castlevania has quite the gaming legacy, spanning all the way back to its origin in 1986. Since then, numerous titles under the series have been released and a strong community of fans has been there to see it develop. So you can imagine the hype behind this newest collaboration of horror giants.

The Killer

(Konami Entertainment)

Our new killer entering the Fog is none other than The Dark Lord himself, Dracula. He will be DBD’s first ever shapeshifting killer and the first time we’ve had a vampire crossing our maps. Dare I start the conspiracy that Dead By Daylight has been waiting for the day they cannot have any old vampire, but THE Dark Lord of Castlevania? Legends only from here on out, please!

The three forms that Dracula can take on are (obviously) himself, a bat and a wolf, each having their own unique talents. Flames can be conjured in vampire form to char the survivors, bat form is used to silently stalk your prey and when in wolf form you can hunt anyone by scent. No one is safe when Dracula is on the prowl!

The Survivor

When there is a killer, there must be a survivor! Trevor Belmont is bursting into the scene and ready to hunt vampires. His skills will contribute to working in a team, building allies to fight against the forces of evil. Looking like the hunk of the Fog, players will be captivated by Trevor’s dark and mysterious demeanour, eyes always scouring the environment for any hint of a vampire to slay.

Sadly there isn’t a new map to accompany the new arrivals but there will be a glimpse of Dracula’s castle when he’s the featured killer in any match taking place on an original Dead by Daylight map. Any map that’s licensed, think Alien’s Nostromo, Dracula will be leaving his castle at home. The last thing he wants is to be sued when he’s already balancing three personalities and an insatiable hunger for survivor blood.
