Here’s everything that was announced at the Capcom Spotlight event:

Resident Evil 4: Chainsaw Demo

The demo for the Resident Evil 4 remake is available now. (Capcom)

The biggest and most exciting news of the day was the release of a demo for the Resident Evil 4 remake.

The demo sees you play as Leon and explore the reimagination of the “mysterious village”. There’s no time limit, so you can jump in and check it out whenever and however you like.

The demo is out now for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Resident Evil: Death Island

Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Jill Valentine all star in a new animated Resident Evil film set on “Death Island”, a zombified version of Alcatraz.

The trailer shows a prison overrun, Leon and Chris on the chase and a very brief glimpse of Jill Vallentine – oh and there’s a zombie shark…

A trailer was shown at the Capcom spotlight event but it’s seemingly the same trailer released online earlier in February. Regardless, fans will be able to catch this new movie later this year.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection

Capcom showed off a new trailer for the upcoming Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection. The game will feature 499 patch cards and a new game mode.

(What’s a patch card?)

In the “olden days”, Patch Cards were physical cards you could pick up and scan into the game as a vintage “DLC” with a Nintendo e-reader. In the case of Mega Man, the cards were only available in Japan at the time, now they have now been added directly into the game.

The Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection is coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on April 14.

Capcom 40th Anniversary

And finally, Capcom has announced it’s celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2023 with the unveiling of Capcom Town, a digital theme park that celebrates all things Capcom. Capcom Town officially opens its virtual doors on June 12.
