Apocalypse Awaits: Fallout Teaser Trailer Nukes the Anticipation!

Hot off the heels of Amazon’s recent character stills, Amazon Prime Video has dropped an electrifying teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated Fallout series.

The clip offers us a more profound glimpse into the characters and the chilling challenges they’ll face in the post-apocalyptic wasteland on April 12th.

At about 2:20 am AEST, we were greeted with a special live report from Galaxy News, an exclusive look at Vault 33 from Vault Tec. Drama unfolds as a Galaxy News journalist ad-libs for an hour, marking the countdown as Vault-Tec employees attempt to locate the misplaced key to Vault 33. Fallout has always cleverly satirised retrofuturistic 1950s America, adding a unique aesthetic and level of humour that feels quite satisfying. And this countdown special encapsulated that energy in an entertaining way. I do recommend you also sit back and take a listen too!

This move signaled a particularly strong level of commitment by Amazon’s Prime Video to keep this show true to the dramatic satiric nature of the Fallout series. They didn’t just drop the trailer in a detached post, it was theatrical. And some recent videos and images coming out of Prime Video’s Fallout experience at CCXP23 have also been quite the treat to see.

In the latest sneak peek, we visit a familiar story of a vault dweller venturing into the unknown. Lucy, portrayed by Ella Purnell. The brief trailer unfolds what look to be some very key moments from the beginning of the series.

If you like your lion’s, tigers, and bears, with a little irradiation, you’re in for a treat! With the teaser showcasing mutated creatures, such as Radroaches, Yao Guai (mutated bears), and a mutated Axolotl with fingers for tastebuds (A Gulper?).

We of course also get to see more of post-apocalyptic California’s makeshift cities, as well as a good look at the Brotherhood of Steel, and even Vault 33’s uprising! It looks like we are going to be seeing quite a lot of the Fallout we already know and love. But wait, there’s also a lot of Fallout, we haven’t seen before in previous installments.

Dogmeat- I mean CX404, would like to offer you a hand. Source: Prime Video Teaser Trailer.

In the post-apocalyptic worlds of the previous Fallout games, Dogmeat becomes your reliable ally, assisting in scavenging and fearlessly facing off against wasteland threats. In this adaptation, it looks like we are also treated with the goodest of boys as one of the major reveals of the trailer. Curiously named CX404, this version of our canine companion may potentially be somewhat artificial. Perhaps similar to our previous companion Rex of Fallout New Vegas?

The teaser trailer was an absolute feast of references, tidbits, and sneakpeaks that’ll make even the most casual Fallout fan feel excited to see be brought to life. I’m personally still holding out for a special reveal, or interview during The Game Awards later this week. But I really think that Fallout fans have been spoilt as rotten as ghouls.

Can April come sooner, please?
