Iconic first-person shooter Battlefield is getting its next big instalment, focusing heavily on multiplayer gameplay and fast-paced action.
It’s been four years since the previous game, and the online response to the latest trailer has sent fans into a flurry of excitement.

Media and gaming creators from around the world gathered in Los Angeles on Wednesday for the big multiplayer reveal from EA and Battlefield Studios — including Quest Daily.
Many are touting it as the successor to Battlefield 3 and 4, putting aside the mixed reviews of Battlefield 2042 — and the developers say they’ve gone all out.
Visually it’s a spectacle, with realistic warzones and soldiers going head-to-head on the… battlefield.
Battlefield Studios is made up of four unique studios, each focusing on specific components that make up the game and spread across the globe.
Interview with David Sirland and Alexis Christofi
Lead Producer David Sirland and DICE’s Alexia Christofi sat down with QD to share more about the game’s development.

While each of these studios has their own specific focus, the game’s producers say it’s a huge collaborative effort to bring it all together.
“Each of these studios is a powerhouse in their own right…. We’re basically able to have a 24 hour development cycle,” Christofi told QD.
“I can’t start working on something at the beginning of my day, and as we get closer to the end of the day LA come online and we start talking,” she said.

Sirland says it’s the studio’s biggest game yet.
“There’s enough of us, there’s enough knowledge and it allows us to go after a much higher quality level because we have enough actual hands,” he explained.
“The process is harder but it’s so much more rewarding — and there’s better insight into more cultures from around the world,” he said.

As for making sure the studio is on track and making something that gamers will enjoy playing, Sirland says it all comes down to experience.
“You have to make sure the vision is clear and clearly communicated,” he said.
“And the only way to do that is to play the game a lot, we review the game together in video form.”
“It’s a tedious process but I think that’s the only way to do it. Little by little,” he said.
Listening to the Community

Christofi echoed Sirland, adding that the players have a big part to play.
“Our community is nothing if not vocal,” she said.
“They’ll let us know what they care about and what’s important to them. We’re quite happy to hear it!”

There’s an upcoming beta test starting August 9th for gamers who want to try the game early — and there’s plenty who do. Pre-orders have shot Battlefield 6 to the top of the charts across PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
After already getting an early hands on with the multiplayer side of the game, I personally can’t wait to dive back in. There’s also new single player campaign coming, but we’ve just had a short teaser trailer for it thus far.
Battlefield 6 is shaping up to be a hell of a time. It launches across consoles and PC on October 10th.
