WARNING: Spoilers ahead!
That’s right, Michael Keaton is back as Batman – and so is Ben Affleck.
Zod returns and Supergirl debuts.
All in a three minute trailer, four months before the movie releases.
It’s equal parts crazy and genius.
Weeks ago, many thought this movie would never see the light of day.
Its star – the controversial Ezra Miller – has been all but cancelled in the midst of “an ongoing Massachusetts investigation into their relationship with the unnamed 12-year-old nonbinary child.”
Yet last month, James Gunn, the new boss of the DCU, staked the creation of his vision on Miller’s movie “that resets the entire DC universe.”

If today’s trailer is anything to go by, DC is swinging hard for Marvel’s mantle.
Barry Allen (the Flash) is playing with time and the multiverse.
And in a scene with Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, Barry says “I could fix things.”
Batfleck replies, “you could also destroy everything.”
And of course, that’s the way things go.
Barry somehow creates a world with “no metahumans” to protect the planet.
There’s no sign of Henry Cavill’s Superman (so far) but we get our first look at Kara, who looks delightfully overpowered as Supergirl.
As a long time critic of DC’s attempt at a shared universe – I’m worried.
But as a fan, there’s no denying how delightfully splendid that trailer was.
It’s perfect, bombastic, colourful and exciting.
