Star Wars: Starfighter unveiled starring Ryan Gosling, coming 2027

A new star wars film has been unveiled at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo on Friday! Titled Star Wars: Starfighter, the new film is expected to hit cinemas in May 2027.

Helmed by Deadpool & Wolverine and Free Guy director Shawn Levy, the cast includes mega star Ryan Gosling — who made a grand appearance at the event.

A game of the same name was released by LucasFilm Games back in 2001, which saw you take control as a Starfighter pilot before the Battle of Naboo. Though it looks like this new film won’t be directly connected to the game or the Skywalker Saga.
