The spooky season is upon us and it’s time to settle in for Halloween with the spookiest of the spooky video games!
2023 has already seen some notable titles released, but the year is not yet over, and the creepy vibes are still flowing.
Here’s our list of spooktastic games to check out:
Resident Evil 4 (2023)
Six long years after the disaster in Raccoon City, Leon S. Kennedy is on his next mission. The president’s daughter has been kidnapped and taken to a secluded European village where the locals have lost their minds. The remake stays true to the original with added gameplay improvements and huge graphics upgrade.
Resident Evil 4 is out now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Alien Dark Decent (2023)
This squad-based single-player strategy game will have you on planet Lethe battling a new kind of Xenomorph outbreak. You are guaranteed to need a new pair of undies here.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (2023)
This multiplayer horror game is one for the Dead by Daylight lovers out there, with a similar gameplay set up. Based around the events of the original 1974 cult classic film, four survivors are battling to escape an unhinged family ready to catch and kill anyone they find.

Sons of the Forest (2023)
Set on a remote island, it is your mission, alone or with friends to find a missing billionaire. Only problem is said island is home to some cannibals. So yeah, don’t get ate. Open-world survival horror will get your fright night on the right track.

Demonologist (2023)
Gather your friends, dead or alive, to play this horror co-op where you and your squad must identify the evil spirit in order to exercise it before it’s too late!

VR gamers haven’t been flying under the radar for releases this year with Switchback VR from Supermassive Games and Capcom’s Resident Evil: Village VR update being must-play games if you’re looking for immersive scares.

Peering into the final weeks of October, it looks like the screams will keep coming with Alan Wake 2 gracing our consoles on October 27th. A title that has been greeted with great anticipation since it’s announcement back in June.

I was hoping that Paranormal Tales would get a release this October, but alas, nothing official has been announced from Digital Cybercherries just yet.
Slipping in just after Halloween is Little Goody Two Shoes, slyly sliding in on November 1st.
