The next Elder Scrolls Online update is here and it’s an absolute nostalgia trip.
The Scribes of Fate DLC is the first part of Shadow Over Morrowind, a new adventure that sees players unlock the mysteries of Hermaeus Mora and begin a story that continues into the Necrom Chapter.

Quest Daily took a deep dive into an all-new dungeon alongside Zenimax Online’s Lead Content Designer, Jeremy Sera, and Lead Encounter Designer, Mike Finnigan.
The dungeon we explored was Bal Sunnar, and it’s one of the most creative levels I’ve experienced in the game. The other new dungeon is Scrivener’s Hall.
“These two dungeons are the start of our new year of content, which is call Shadow over Morrowind – they make up the first entrée. Then soon after the prologue will unlock which leads us into the chapter,” said Jeremy Sera.

“One of the things we love to do is have every single story, one, stand in its own, they are awesome to display on their own. And also all tie together.
“So if you play all of the content you get the fullest understanding of the storyline,” Sera said.
Bal Sunnar takes the player to a Dunver village in the mountains near Stonefalls, and the Psijic Order has been dispatched as they’ve sensed a “time anomaly”.
It’s an incredibly creative dungeon, with an exciting and evolving map.
I won’t say much more, just know it’s a treat!
With each dungeon comes new bosses and new boss mechanics.
Mike Finnigan revealed the team at Zenimax Online strategically place standard enemies through the map that essentially “tease” and “teach” the player how new mechanics could work in the lead up to a boss or large encounter.
“This is what we call a telegraph for a future boss fight. So when we get into a boss fight, that’s absolutely an ability you’re going to see,” Finnigan said.
The first time you may experience a new enemy mechanic won’t necessarily be in a boss fight.
“We like to show you it before it can kill you in a boss fight,” he said.
Elder Scrolls Online: Scribes of Fate launched this week on PC and MAC, Xbox and PlayStation players will be able to get their hands on it come March 28.
It’s available through the ESO Crown Store or unlocked through an ESO Plus membership.
