Webs spinning as Big W price bungle leaves gamers disappointed

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for $20!? It was always going to be too good to be true. When eager-eyed gamers spotted the bargain price online, many jumped into action.

On Thursday, Big W had Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation 5 listed for just $20 + postage.

Reported first on OzBargain, many users claimed to have been successful with their purchase — including some at Quest Daily. Others say the price reverted back to $99 at the online checkout.

Those who checked out, paid for their bargain find, and received an email confirmation thought they were in the clear.

Nope.

Customers were later notified by email that their orders had been refunded “as requested”.

(No one requested a refund. Let’s be real, Big W).

Quest Daily reached out to Big W and Woolworths Group for comment in relation to the Spider-Man 2 stuff up.

Here’s what they had to say:

“BIG W is aware there was a pricing error on the Spider-Man 2 PS5 game, this has now been corrected to the true retail price of $99 and is available for purchase in-store and online while stocks last.”

Big W did not give a reason for the bungle or acknowledge the refunds.

While we can’t confirm how many copies of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 were sold at the $20 price, we feel if Big W accepted the cash they should still cough up the product.
