It’s April, and you’d be a fool for thinking there weren’t any banger games dropping this month! Pixel-art vampires, stealthy octopuses, a man stuck in a bullet-hell time-loop… April has it all!
Here are our most anticipated games releasing in April 2026:
Legacy of Kain: Ascendance
Legacy of Kain fans have already been absolutely spoiled with remasters and tie-in comics this year; now, Legacy of Kain: Ascendance is on the way — a 2D action platformer blending smooth combat with vertical exploration across the gothic world of Nosgoth.
Ascendance serves as a prequel to 1999’s Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, taking us back to this classic dark fantasy universe. It’s the first new entry in the series since 2003. Players take control of multiple characters, including Kain and Raziel in both their human and vampire forms, each bringing unique abilities to traversal and combat. The original cast has also returned for new voice work.
Players can sink their teeth into Legacy of Kain: Ascendance on April 1st. It’s coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Darwin’s Paradox!
Darwin’s Paradox! follows a clever octopus named Darwin, who is torn from his ocean home and trapped in a mysterious industrial complex. In the action-adventure platformer, players use Darwin’s unique abilities — from swimming and camouflage to climbing and ink shooting — to overcome environmental puzzles and dangers…. Just try not to get Darwin killed.
The game is set across a variety of carefully crafted levels filled with humour and cinematic flair. It’s a vibrant, cartoon-like adventure that likens itself to an interactive animated film.
Darwin’s Paradox! is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on April 2nd.

REPLACED
2.5D action platformer REPLACED, from Sad Cat Studios, is finally set to release after a somewhat rocky development. The dark and gritty cyberpunk story is set in a dystopian version of the U.S.A. in the 80s. You play as an AI trapped inside a human body, investigating the shady Phoenix Corporation and the circumstances of your creation.
Visually breathtaking; the inspired combination of hand-crafted pixel-art, phenomenal lighting, masterful use of focus, and cinematic camera combine to create something special. Pixels have never looked so good!
Jack into REPLACED on April 15th for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Pragmata
Pragmata is the next big thing out of Capcom. The Sci-Fi action-adventure follows spaceman Hugh, and his android companion Diana, as they work together to escape a hostile lunar research station and make their way back to Planet Earth.
A big point of difference is the game’s real-time hacking mechanic. Hugh will need to avoid incoming attacks long enough for Diana to hack in and expose the enemy’s weak spot via a simple mini-game. Hugh then brings the pain in third-person shooting action.
Pragmata lands on April 24th for the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors
Vampire Crawlers takes the dopamine-inducing chaos of action-roguelite Vampire Survivors and crams it into a roguelite-deckbuilder… And while that might sound slow compared to the auto-attacking bullet-hell of Survivors, in Crawlers you can fire off cards and combos as quickly as you can click!!
Just like Survivors, combining power-ups, weapon evolutions, and enhancements are the key to doing snowballing, game-breaking damage numbers. The spin-off also moves the birds eye camera down to street level, bringing a new dimension to the simple-but-effective pixel art style.
Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors hits consoles and PC on April 22nd.
SAROS
Third-person, sci-fi shooter SAROS is packed with bullet-hell monster battles and the roguelike elements that elevated its predecessor, Returnal, from a regular shooter. Set on a hostile alien world, the game tasks you with uncovering the secrets of the planet to break free of your time-loop prison.
Building on the addictive mechanics Returnal brought to the table, SAROS adds a revival feature that gives you a second chance after death, permanent resources and progression, as well as a parry ability which can send projectiles right back at enemies.
SAROS releases exclusively for the PlayStation 5 on April 30th.
