Ever wondered what would happen if ancient Rome was overrun with hordes of zombies? Yeah, I can’t say that thought has crossed my mind either… Until now! Romestead is a newly announced crafting and survival RPG, rendered in a beautiful 2D pixel-art style, from developers Beartwigs.
With Rome in ruins, the game tasks you with rebuilding the fallen empire brick by brick. You’ll be hunting, farming, exploring, fighting enemies, building towns, worshipping gods, battling giant demon birds… Wait WHAT!?
As your city grows you’ll need leatherworkers, blacksmiths, artisans and more to advance your technology, improve your defences, and keep your citizens safe and happy. But take your time… Rome wasn’t built in a day!

Fret not, you don’t have to tackle the mammoth task of restoring the realm all alone, with up to eight players able to play together. Venture out into the wide world, uncovering puzzling dungeons and formidable bosses, looting treasures to fund the expansion of your empire.
Which Roman god you choose to worship affects what buffs you receive and what technology you can unlock, which is a cool feature.

Romestead doesn’t have a release date just yet, but there will be a closed alpha test in the near future. You can also wishlist it on Steam now.
