Xbox revealed Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy as a World Premiere during the Xbox Games Showcase on Monday, and it instantly reminded me I still need to play A Plague Tale. This one’s set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem, and follows a younger Sophia as she sets out to find her independence.
The good news is you probably won’t need to have played the other games to get into this, being a prequel and all (bless). I always wanted to play A Plague Tale but was put off by the survival-horror aspect. But Resonance looks more like Shadow of the Colossus with some Tomb Raider sprinkled in there, which I can totally do.
The trailer showed a very Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring scene with Sophia sneaking around a in Moria-looking underground area with steep stairs, and a Balrog lookalike statue — all of which appealed to me very much.
