Planet of Lana was one of my favourite indie games of 2023, so I was over the moon to see it getting a sequel during Xbox’s latest showcase. Planet of Lana 2: Children of the Leaf picks up where the first game left off. Lana and Mui set out on a new journey to uncover even more mysteries about their home planet, Novo.
Planet of Lana 2 is a cinematic narrative puzzle adventure, continuing the side-scrolling style of the original. Set after the robot invasion from the first game, this new chapter promises a bigger world to explore. Best of all, there’s even more time to share with Mui, your loyal, snuggly sidekick.

To solve puzzles this time around, Lana and Mui will be able to control robots and even hypnotise wild creatures. Platforming has also been upgraded, with Lana now able to wall jump, slide, and move with greater speed and precision.
With a richer story, more inventive puzzles, and a breathtaking hand-painted art style, Planet of Lana 2 looks ready to deliver another unforgettable adventure. I’m counting down the days until I can explore Novo all over again.
Planet of Lana 2: Children of the Leaf is set to release sometime in 2026, launching day one on Xbox Game Pass and coming to all major platforms. Lana’s got the courage, Mui’s got the cuteness, and I’ve got my wishlist at the ready.
