Pokémon Day 2023 is happening next week and The Pokémon Company has announced a ‘Pokémon Presents’ stream to celebrate.
What to expect
Not one to spoil a surprise, Pokémon have only said we’ll be getting ‘20 minutes of exciting Pokémon news’.
As to what that could be, they may have given us a clue. The short teaser that accompanies the tweet features sprites for the first 18 Pokémon from Generation 1 (Bulbasaur to Pidgeotto), which COULD be a hint that the original Pokémon games for the Game Boy are coming to Nintendo Switch Online.
The next #PokemonPresents is on the way, Trainers! 🤩
Tune in to our official YouTube channel at 6:00 a.m. PST on February 27 for about 20 minutes of exciting Pokémon news in celebration of #PokemonDay 2023! 🎉

It’s probably a safe bet that we’ll get our first look at Scarlet and Violet DLC, as well as updates for Pokémon Go and Pokémon Unite.
Could we also get a new Pokémon Mystery Dungeon announced? Or a much overdue follow up to Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee for the Johto region? More of a long shot for sure.
When to watch
Stay up late and catch it live, Tuesday 28th Feb at 1:00 am AEDT on Pokemon’s official channels.
