DAY 2: PAX Australia – October 7 Blog

Here’s what we’re up to on Day 3 of PAX Australia.

5:30PM

We’re done. After a mammoth weekend of gaming, meeting friends, filming interviews and having a good time… It’s time to call it.

Thank you so much for following along with us. Until next year!

Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days has a playable demo on the show floor.

With the modern graphics mixed with 80s themes, this title finds the player surviving a zombie torn America scavenging for the last of the world’s supplies.

It was a long wait! Ellie stood in line for 2.5 hours to play the demo, which may seem extreme but the break from the crowd was sort of nice.

“Experiencing this zombie horror game in a bite sized piece of 10 minutes left us hungering for more. A title I’ll definitely be adding to my steam wishlist for its arrival next year,” Ellie said.

We’re about three hours away from the Omegathon final round!

The annual tournament involves 20 randomly chosen attendees battling it out across various video games until all but one are eliminated, the winner being sent to an international PAX destination of their choosing.

The game in the final round is a surprise and being the final event for the whole weekend, it tends to be a pretty rowdy atmosphere. Make sure to check it out 5:30PM at the Main Theatre.

2:02PM

Interested in checking out a PAX Panel? There are a few on this afternoon, running until 6:30 tonight.

PAX is a good chance to get a photo with some famous faces.

Pikachu, Mario and Snorlax are just some of the icons who have been spotted floating around the Nintendo booth this year.

If you want to test your Pokemon Snap skills in real life, pop by and ask for a selfie with these stars!

These two are very invested in their Pokemon Scarlet and Violet gameplay.

10:30AM

Have you visited our friends across the ditch? There are so many incredible games on display from New Zealand devs, including the critically acclaimed Dredge.

Check out the NZ Games area, located directly next to PAX Rising on the main floor.

9:58AM

Doors are about to open on the final day of PAX Australia 2023! What a weekend…

There’s still plenty to see and do. Keep across the blog throughout the day. And if you see something awesome please send us a photo!
