The game immerses players in an abandoned Tokyo city environment, where the husk of the Dark Dragon God looms ominously. This husk drenches the city in an endless rain, unleashing untold chaos upon its streets.

It’s been over a decade since we’ve seen Ryu Hyabusa in action, and this time around he isn’t the only Ninja protagonist on the scene. The trailer introduces us to Yakumo, a Master Ninja hopeful from the Raven Clan, who rivals Ryu’s Clan.

The developers promise that combat will be seriously fast-paced, difficult, and bloody, and it certainly looks the part! Yakumo stands out from Ryu by using two combat styles: Raven Style and Nué Style, with each style designed for specific situations.

Ryu’s combat looks (and sounds) familiar to series fans, introducing some new moves and abilities yet to be revealed. Both characters wield the iconic Flying Swallow and Izuna drop abilities, however!

Ninja Gaiden 4 is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and slated for a Fall 2025 release – which puts it around September/October for us Aussies. It will be available on Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
