The developers of video game The Day Before have been labeled “scammers”, as the studio closed down just four days after releasing the game.
The open-world survival game had been promised for years, but its early access release left fans questioning its legitimacy.
Hitting the Steam store on December 7, gamers have since reported a plethora of game-breaking bugs and unfinished levels.
A recurring bug that created giant enemies and NPCs was a highlight.
In a statement posted to X, Fntastic says they’re closing the doors as their game “failed financially”.

Pre-launch, the gaming community noted trailer assets pulled from other games, striking similarities and themes to Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us, random delays, and other misleading marketing materials.
When The Day Before finally got into the hands of gamers, it was evident this game was not what was promised.

The day before release the devs were seemingly excited to share their work, but the day after has them wishing they could go back again.
The game has since been pulled from the Steam store, but gamers are still able to pursue refunds.
