Dungeon Clawler, a gripping new roguelike deck-builder

I love a good roguelike deck-builder, they can be so gimmicky, and I mean that in a good way! The mechanics behind the way you build and use your deck can be so varied and interesting; you could be summoning monsters like in Wildfrost, enhancing and attacking with one character like Slay the Spire, or even leaving it all to the roll of the dice in Dicey Dungeons.

So you better believe that when I saw a new roguelike deck-builder using a CLAW MACHINE as its gimmick, that my attention was drawn. In Dungeon Clawler you use an arcade style claw machine to grab various items to aid you or damage your enemies.

There are multiple playable characters, with their own strengths, weaknesses and backstories. Like Sir Bunalot who lost big time on the roulette tables and had his hand chopped off by the dungeon lord as payment. Or Count Clawcula who was evicted after losing all his coin betting on bat races.

Coin earnt during battle can be gambled on pachinko machines for the chance to nab powerful items… Seriously I’m beginning to think these guys have real gambling problems!

Dungeon Clawler is set to launch into Steam early access later this year. There’s a demo available to try now.
