This collaboration aims to merge the iconic Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and Avatar universes with Epic Games’ Fortnite and Unreal Engine.

In a statement, Robert Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, expressed excitement, “Our exciting new relationship with Epic Games will bring together Disney’s beloved brands and franchises with the hugely popular Fortnite in a transformational new games and entertainment universe.”

The partnership is expected to build upon successful Disney content integrations within Fortnite, with characters and stories from Star Wars, Marvel, Lucas Film and more joining the Fortnite world.

Disney says its video games have amassed 1.5 billion global installs, with multiple franchises grossing over $1 billion in sales. Not bad.

Epic Games only recently partnered with LEGO to create a Fortnite LEGO game mode.
