For those unfamiliar, Dead by Daylight is an online survival horror game released in 2016. Players team up in groups of four as either ‘survivors’ or go solo as the ‘killer’.
The team of survivors must work together silently to evade the killer’s hook only armed with one item of choice, ranging from a health pack, torch, toolbox and more. Five generators must be repaired to power the doors for the survivor team to exit unscathed and live – but not if the killer has anything to do with it!
Aussie director James Wan, creator of horror classic Saw (2004) and The Conjuring (2013), has praised Behaviour Interactive’s work on the videogame, telling Variety it has an “incredible environment teeming with atmosphere and terrifying villains-perfect for a scary cinematic adaptation.”

The most recent game-to-screen adaption has been by HBO, taking on Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us.
