As the biggest weekend in the Aussie gaming calendar approaches, excitement is in the air. Unfortunately, cloning technology isn’t available to the public just yet, so you’ll need to choose your events wisely. One standout you won’t want to miss is the Women in Gaming meet up, hosted by the Confessions of a Gamer Girl podcast.
When is the Women in Gaming meet?
Taking place at 11 AM on Sunday in the Ibis Community Room, this gathering will bring together women from all corners of the gaming world.

Confessions of a Gamer Girl is hosted by Rhiannen Austin, Shaye Hayes and … drum roll … me, Ellie Weaver. I couldn’t be more excited to meet you all!
The Women in Gaming meet up is a chance to mingle, network, make connections, and simply hang out. These gatherings attract a fascinating group of women, and they offer a wonderful opportunity to chat and even stay in touch after PAX — because, let’s be real, no one likes thinking about PAX being over!
Developers, artists, directors, podcasters, content creators, casual players, and gaming enthusiasts alike flock to these events every year. This year, I’m honoured to attend for the first time. It can feel intimidating, and the thought of walking into the room alone might stir up some anxiety.

But here’s the thing—you won’t be alone. Whether you’ve been part of the gaming community for 20 years or 20 minutes, the warm, welcoming atmosphere will quickly put you at ease. Taking that deep breath and stepping into a room full of supportive women eager to connect could very well be one of the highlights of your weekend.
So, set a reminder on your phone for 10:55 AM, take those steps into the Ibis Community Room at 11, and join a strong network of women who share one thing in common: the love of gaming and the space it gives us to be ourselves, on our own terms.
