Wednesday morning’s PlayStation State of Play revealed a fresh look at Pragmata, Capcom’s long-dormant sci-fi action shooter.
The trailer opened with a hype reel for the fictional Delphi Corporation, giving off strong Umbrella Corporation vibes. Moments later, a mysterious little blonde girl appeared, and I couldn’t help but think: “Ah, there’s the Red Queen stand-in.” Capcom really has a type — evil megacorps and unnerving children.
The little blonde girl describes herself as a Pragmata, which I gather means she’s a super-smart AI. And her name is D-I-03367, or Diana, as our protagonist names her. It flashes me back to Sam Porter-Bridges naming his BB Lou. The trailer’s sentimental music is working overtime too, hinting that this relationship might hurt us later — emotionally, I mean (probably.)
Gameplay-wise, Diana piggybacks on our protagonist, helping him take down hostile robot enemies by hacking them mid-fight. Set on a lunar research station, sci-fi vibes are cranked to max. The game’s logo also highlights sections of two letters, A and M, creating outlines of the letter V in the title. What could that mean?

There’s also a cute little apology-slash-release-date update at the end — a cheeky timeline that morphs from 2022 to 2023 to 2026, topped off with a smiley face.
You can wishlist Pragmata now on the PlayStation Store.
