The PAX Australia show floor is fast-paced; everyone runs from game to game and lines up for the loudest titles. But Dungeon Pizza forced me to slow down, enjoy the little moments, and get to know a weird group of adventurers.
Dungeon Pizza is exactly what it says on the tin — you’re making pizza in a dungeon! To be more specific, you’re a rotund, anthropomorphic cat making pizza using rat tails, eyeballs and sentient doughballs for skeletons and paladins. It’s a whole lot of fun.

Just one slice, maybe two
If you ever played Cooking Mama, the central conceit here should be easy to pick up, you click and drag your pizza dough to stretch and knead it. Then throw it into the air, top with sauce and whatever toppings are requested. Lastly, let it cook and serve it to your guests. Pretty simple, right?
Customers will then come in with special requests:
“Make me the spiciest pizza you can” – the fire mage.
“I found this rat, can you make something for me?” – the young adventurer.
At the end of the day, your culinary decisions are up to your taste buds, but the people that come into the Dungeon Pizza shop are the heart and soul.
In the early build I played you earn some money for each pizza you cook, but I can see how in future with more customers and time crunches, the heat of the kitchen could leave you stressed like an episode of The Bear.

Come for the pizza, stay for the people
Dungeon Pizza is being developed by Blab Labs, a five-person dev team from Brisbane. PAX is their second time showing the game, having taken away the People’s Choice award at TGX 2026.
What surprised me from the outset is the adorable attention to characterising your customers. In my playthrough I met a young soldier out to prove himself, a timid servant of the Skeleton Lord, and a brash paladin with absolutely zero time to wait around for pizza. I can easily see how this is a cosy game where you’ll be investin in the people you meet, as much as growing and running your burgeoning shop.
Speaking with Elly-Rose Burrowes, artist at Blab Labs, she told me the team wants players to feel comfortable and seen.
“We have some characters that come across as intense. But you help them and get to know them, and they come out of their shell,” Burrowes said.
Dungeon Pizza currently has a play test on Steam.
Blab Labs is planning a demo for early next year, with a full release planned for Q4, 2027. Watch this space!
