Review | Revolution makeup x Fortnite

What’s that noise?

Sounds like the Battle Bus bursting through about to drop a review on the Revolution x Fortnite make up line!

Being a big fan of Fortnite I just had to get my hands on some of the items in Revolution’s line. On drop day I swiftly added to the cart the lip oil, makeup primer, setting spray, Peely face mask and matching brush.

Starting off strong my favourite item from my haul had to be the Peely Lip Oil. Smelling slightly of banana, the oil is hydrating, thick and relatively long-lasting. I’d definitely recommend it as an alternative to lip balm as it adds a nice shine by itself or on top of lipstick. The Lip Oil retails for $10.

The makeup primer has a delicate sweet scent that is not too overpowering; an important aspect with face creams. Too much fragrance just simply doesn’t feel healthy! The primer allowed my makeup to go on smoothly and stay on well.

The Fixing Spray, like the lip oil, has a banana scent of the Fortnite legend Peely. The component however sprays so much product onto the face that it’s almost a little aggressive. It doesn’t feel like the spray distributes the product evenly, however, it does sit on top of the makeup well and keeps it in place. You can also grab this for $10.

Lastly, the Peely mask! I had been really looking forward to trying it out as I’m a big fan of home facials. I applied the mask with the Peely brush, the obvious tool for the job. The consistency was very thick and after being left on for the recommended 10 minutes I wiped it off with a damp flannel. The Peely Mask retails online or $20.

My skin was left feeling a little tight, but smooth to the touch. I normally prefer to be left feeling hydrated rather than tight as it’s a drying feeling. But I’m not writing off the clay mask just yet!

So all in all, I got what I expected.

Revolution’s Fortnite collaboration is a fun makeup line that offers good starter makeup and a great souvenir of a game I love to play. The line won’t be the next Charlotte Tilbury or Mac, but is enjoyable in its own right and deserves a spot in every gamer’s makeup bag. GG Revolution!
