Return of the Bot: New Astro Bot game revealed!

A brand new full-length Astro Bot game has been revealed. It’s NOT VR, it’s out on September 6th, and my hype levels are through the roof!

Simply titled Astro Bot, the Team Asobi developed platformer looks like a fleshed out, fully realised version of the Astro’s Playroom tech demo that came installed on every PS5. The tech demo was such a delight and the perfect way to kick off a new console generation, showcasing the fabulous new features of the DualSense controller. It was an absolute joy to play.

Fans of Playroom rejoice as we now have a full-length game on the horizon that will allow Astro to really shine. It’ll feature six galaxies and over 80 levels, showcasing multiple biomes for Astro to explore!

The DualSense features will be on show once again with 15 new and unique abilities utilising the controllers’ adaptive triggers and haptic feedback to their full potential.

Much like a Kirby or Mario game, Astro looks to have multiple tools and transformations, like Springy Boxing-gloves and Sponge-form Astro, to solve various puzzles, take on over 70 new enemy types, and defeat colossal galaxy bosses.

Team Asobi is also doubling down on the character cameos, so expect dozens of robotised familiar faces. I see you, PaRappa the Rapper!
