New Amazon TV show ‘Secret Level’, featuring hit video games, launches in December

Gamescom ONL 2024 treated us to the first teaser of Secret Level, an anthology TV series featuring stories from your favourite video games. If you’ve ever asked yourself why a game wasn’t just made into a movie instead, this one’s for you.

Available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video from December 10th, Secret Level will feature 15 original animated shorts from video game worlds, such as God of War, Dungeons & Dragons, Concord, and Sifu. The addition of Pac-Man has me very excited; will we see a Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man love story?

Secret Level is the brainchild of Deadpool director Tim Miller, who also created the sci-fi anthology series Love, Death + Robots. Miller introduced the teaser at ONL, getting quite choked up about it which I thought was super sweet. The project is a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Blur Studio, and has been in development for three years, and is “our love letter to games”, Miller said. Naaw.

Is that you Keanu?

Suffice to say I was super excited when I saw this screenshot featuring the one and only Keanu Reeves, and I was even more excited to see a Matrix-coded Keanu in the trailer!

Here’s the full list of games set to feature in Secret Level:

  • Armored Core
  • Concord
  • Crossfire
  • Dungeons & Dragons
  • Exodus
  • Honor of Kings
  • Mega Man
  • New World: Aeternum
  • PAC-MAN
  • PlayStation (Highlighting various PlayStation Studios beloved entities, including God of War)
  • Sifu
  • Spelunky
  • The Outer Worlds
  • Unreal Tournament
  • Warhammer 40,000

I’m very interested in seeing what they’ll do with Sifu, as its fist-flying action and unique visual style would lend so well to animation!
