Remember that game that launched with the Nintendo Switch called 1-2-Switch? Well, there’s another one – and no one expected it!

Introducing Everybody 1-2 Switch.

The reason I say no one expected this game is because Nintendo literally announced it out of nowhere – and I’m glad they did because it is a lot of fun.

If you aren’t familiar with the 1-2-Switch games, they are party games that involve players using joycons and competing against each other in mini-games.

The mini-games remind me of the ones you would find in WarioWare and Mario Party.

Everybody 1-2-Switch takes the concept of multiplayer and expands it beyond what you could imagine with a game like this. Not only can you play up to 8 players with joy-cons, but you can also play up to 100 people by using mobile phones or smart devices as controllers.

This takes the cake in being one of the best games to play with friends and family at home (and I come from a big Italian family with there being over 60 of us, so we finally have a game we can all play at once).

There are a mixture of 17 mini-games included in the game and each mini-game either require joy-con controllers, smart devices, or a mix of both.

There’s lots of fun to be had with this title and I strongly recommend it for a bit of fun at home with your family or even for a gaming night with friends.

Nintendo recently held a launch event for Everybody 1-2 Switch in Melbourne, and I went along to check it out.

There were a few Switch stations set up where a bunch of guests could jump in and try some of the games, the most notable being the minigame called UFOs.

This is one of the minigames where players can use their mobile phone as the controller and it was so cool to see a big group of people split into 2 teams and waving their phones around to action the required movements in order to win.

A big sense of community was felt when the whole room joined in and played together, most of them strangers.

I think that it’s pretty special when a video game can do that.

Everybody 1-2 Switch is out now on Nintendo Switch. You can check it out here.
